Benfield School-A Specialist Sports College

Welcome to our website which was launched in May 2004. Benfield School has been a Specialist Sports College since 1997. In addition, the Benfield Centre for Sporting Excellence was opened in 2001 following a substantial lottery application. These two events have contributed towards Benfield School being regarded as a hub-site for sport within Newcastle-upon-Tyne. We are also home to the Newcastle School Sport Co-ordinators Partnership.

We have just recently received the good news that we have been redesignated Sports College status for the next four years. We have also just completed our £260,000 refurbishment of our swimming pool.

This website is designed so that you can view some of the tremendous work we are carrying out. We are extremely lucky to have such a professional team of Physical Education teachers, Sports Development Officers, Coaches, Leisure Assistants and Administrative Officers and all of this expertise ensures that we always offer the best possible quality of service to anybody who attends events organised by the Sports College.
